Wimmin’ Swimmin’ is a monthly hour long session at Teesdale Leisure Centre where we wimmin’ have exclusive use of the pool, with a professional lifeguard in attendance.

The aim of the sessions is to encourage the reluctant/timid/forgotten-how-to-do-it female swimmers back into the pool and to gain sufficient confidence in the water to be able to attend and enjoy mainstream sessions. Each session costs £5.

The benefits of swimming are great, particularly for the older body. These include non-load bearing exercise which eases stressed joints and strengthens the core, providing relaxation and a sense of well-being, and making new and different friendships. Exercise in general is empowering and stimulating.

Annie and/or Ruth are experienced swimmers and will be in attendance to support where necessary.
