WHEN: 3rd Wednesday of each month
See Calendar for dates of meetings.

Meeting once a month on the third Wednesday of the month, usually at 10a.m, for a walk of around 7-9 miles. The walks usually take place in Teesdale, and occasionally in Weardale and the Yorkshire Dales. They are a great way to enjoy stunning scenery as well as coming across places of historic interest, birds, flora and geology – all in good company.

This group was set up in response to members who felt that 10 to 12 miles (the distance usually covered by the Fellwalking Group) was too far and 5 to 6 miles (the distance usually covered by the Walking Group) was not far enough. In other words, it was just right and hence became known as the Goldilocks group.

The walks will probably take between 3 and 4 hours and include a stop to eat your lunch. It is important that walkers are appropriately attired, have waterproofs, drink/snack/lunch, and wear substantial footwear.

It is regretted that no dogs are allowed.

Please leave an emergency telephone contact number with the leader.

Third Age Trust guidance for pre-walk planning recommends that any walker with underlying health conditions should, for their own safety, consider carefully what medical details to bring with them
