North Pennines AONB Partnership Cold-blooded and Spineless Project

This project aims to encourage people to appreciate and record invertebrates in the North Pennines. During our final year in 2019, we are focussing on the Teesdale area in particular and I just wanted to let you know about some of our upcoming events which members of the Teesdale U3A group might be interested in taking part in.

We are offering a series of invertebrate identification workshops and field events this year. See below for links to posters with more details on these. U3A members would be welcome to join us at these events.

There is also an arts and communities element to the Cold-blooded and Spineless project, with opportunities to take part in a number of events this year. There will be a glass workshop at Bowlees on the 4 July and we will also shortly be calling on local artists to enter pieces into our ‘Subterraneous’ art exhibition. The chosen pieces will be displayed at Bowlees and other local venues throughout September. As this is the final year of the project, we are having a final celebration event at Bowlees on the 5 October to reflect on all the project has achieved.

We hope Teesdale U3A members can join us at some of these events. They will become available to book onto during the course of the year via the this link.

We produce a monthly e-newsletter which includes details of all these events and how to book. If you are not already on the mailing list but would like to be, contact Genevieve by email (genevieve@northpenninesaonb.org.uk).
