Monthly Meeting – 26 July

Roger Hallwood
The National Arboretum

The National Arboretum was established in 2001 as a national focus for remembrance; a living tribute to service men and women for future generations to reflect upon and enjoy. It is situated in Staffordshire on the edge of the National Forest. This year it has been awarded Gold Large Visitor Attraction of the year.
Mr Roger Hallwood, our speaker, has for many years been a guide for the Arboretum and has spoken on its behalf across the country.
After serving in the RAF, Roger trained as a teacher specialising in mathematics and taught for many years in Sutton Coldfield. In addition, as a qualified Mountain Leader, Roger has enjoyed a lifetime of outdoor pursuits with young people.
In addition to all of these activities, he is a writer and has produced a number of books.
He lives in Staffordshire close to the Arboretum.
