Book group 2 started in the spring of 2009 with three members, and quickly expanded.
Meeting in each other’s homes, we have developed an informal and friendly atmosphere, as well as enjoying many varieties of biscuits and cups of tea.
Our book choices by individual members have been eclectic in taste, ranging from the classics, such as Austen’s ‘Mansfield Park’ and Hardy’s ‘Under the Greenwood Tree’, to the thriller mysteries of C. J. Sansom and Ann Cleeves.
Occasionally we venture out on a day excursion, previous visits included a visit to the James Herriot Museum at Thirsk and a trip to the Bronte parsonage at Haworth.
